Type 68 --- TOWERTL =================== SIMULATION OF A COOLING TOWER WITH TWO AIR FLOW RATES Routine TOWERTL deals with the part load operation of a cooling tower with two fan speeds, i.e. two different air flow rates (called "maximium" and "minimium" rates). The purpose of routine TOWERTL is to determine to cooling tower operating mode in order to reach a given set point temperature, i.e. a mean exhaust water temperature. Again, the part load opertion is simulated by a linear interpolation between two steady-state regimes and the cyclic losses are not accounted for. A heat transfer coefficient must previously be identified for each air flow rate. A non zero value of AUoff will correspond to the case where the fan is OFF but the water pump is still ON (free convection regime) while AUoff is set equal to zero when both fan and water pump are shut down. Note: The Pos and corresponding theta values (already used in routine TOWEROO ) can be used in order to define the fan and pump electricity consumption. Input, Output and Parameter descriptions are in the *.for file. For More details, see the HVAC1KIT manual.
