Type 72 --- ABSFLSIM ==================== NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF AN ABSORPTION MACHINE IN PART-LOAD REGIME The main practical problem that faces a user is to determine which control system should be applied in order to meet at best the cooling demand. Two control systems are possible in an absorption chiller in order to obtain the given evaporator exhaust water temperature. 1) The modulating control system consists in adjusting the pressure of steam supplied to the generator; when the cooling demand is reached, the chiller operates continuously with the same steam pressure. 2)For low cooling demand, the ON-OFF controll systems simply starts and stops the chiller in order to satisfy the cooling demand. This second control system is referred to as a "cyclic" operating mode and described by a quasi static model: it is assumed that the cyclic operation can be represented by a linear combination of two steady state regimes. Moreover, the cyclic losses are not accounted for. Routine ABSPLISM is based on the same conceptual scheme and the same refridgerant cycle as in full-load regime. Input, Output and Parameter descriptions are in the *.for file. For More details, see the HVAC1KIT manual.
