Simple Flow Mixer to Calculate Outlet States by S. Gabel for ASHRAE Revised for TRNSYS by N. Blair and R. Schwarz This model was adapted strictly for use with the TRNSYS Program by the Solar Energy Laboratory. This subroutine calculates the outlet states for a mixing process based on simple conservation equations. The outlet flow rate is the sum of the two entering flow rates. The outlet temperature is the weighted average of the entering streams, using the flow rates as the weighting factors. While the nomenclature and mathematical description use temperature as the calculated state variable, the subroutines can also be used for calculation of any conserved state variable. Component 1204 calculates the inlet states for the flow mixer. Sample input and output are included in the source code.
