Component 405: Control Signal Inverter by HVACSIM+ General Description This component is a very simple representation of an inverting relay. Its single input is a control signal between zero and one, and its output is one minus the input. In a typical simulation, a single control variable might represent both the output of a controller and the relative position of a valve or damper. Component 407 and Component 408 controller models operate on the assumption that increasing the output control signal will increase the controlled variable. Depending on the system, it may be necessary to use a Component 405 inverter between a controller and a valve or damper in order to maintain the validity of this assumption.
