Analytic analysis of heat loss from corners of buildings

An analytic solution for the elliptic boundary value problem with irregular geometrical boundary region using Schwarz's alternating method is presented. The application of the solution addresses to the physical problems of temperature distribution and heat flux within homogeneous corners of buildings. A parametric analysis based on the general solution derives the concepts of "significant length" and "coefficient of equivalence" that can be used in engineering designs.
