A set of mathematical models on solar collectors are founded and discussed by analyzing the vital factors on performance. An engineering project is simulated by TRNSYS software to investigate the thermal performance. Different types of solar collectors, collector areas, stratified tank volumes and flow rates are considered and compared. In order to attain the higher efficiency, optimized parameters for solar heating system and variable flow rate tank are suggested.
