A code called Solar-Electric Vehicle Simulation (SEVSIM) was constructed on the framework provided by Transient Systems (TRNSYS), a modular solar simulation program. The principal features of SEVSIM (roadway modeling, weather simulation, vehicle systems modeling) are explained, along with the limitations of the current version of the code. The results of the initial validation studies, of a comparison of two solar cell array configurations, and of a study of the effect of average speed on battery discharge are presented.
