RE: Question about type 81 (Borehole model (Dr. P. Pahud)

Maurice,

To run TRNSYS in Debug mode (assuming you are using CVF66a):
- Go To Build / Set Active Project and choose
  Trnlib-Win32 Debug
(it is the default configuration whn you install TRNSYS)
- Rebuild the project (Build/Build Trnlib.dll or F7)
It might be a good idea to do a rebuild all:
Build / Rebuild All (and take a coffee break while it runs)
- Then, run Trnsys.exe (Build/Start Debug/Go, or F5)
This launches Trnsys, you just have to open the deck file.
The debugger will stop when it encounters an error
  or a breakpoint.

NOTE: The first time you do that, it is a good idea to insert a break
point at the beginning of the simulation (e.g. around line 257 in
Trnsys.for}. To do that, select the line and press F9. When the program
stops at that point, go to "Debug/Exceptions" and choose "Stop Always"
for all possible exceptions. Once you have done that you can remove the
breakpoint (F9 again when you are at the right line)

I am sending you a fix for your other problem in a separate email.

Best regards,

Michael

Subject: RE: Question about type 81 (Borehole model (Dr. P. Pahud)

Michael,

Thanks for your answer. I never runned TRNSYS in the debug mode, so can
you tell me how to to this ?

I know which parameter of type 81 is the reason of the range check
error. When I introduce symmetry groups, I get the range check error.
When I have only one borehole heat exchanger (with the same parameters),
everything is OK. So there must be something wrong with configuring the
symmetry groups, the question is what.

I also have another question. For the same project I make a simulation
of 20 years (simulation end time is 175200 hour). In my model I have
some converging problems. In the *.lst file you can see the number of
the iteration call which causes this problem. When this number >
1.000.000, on my screen appears a dialog box with a fortran error. I
only have to click on OK and my simulation goes on. The problem is that
I want to simulate my model at night and then I am not sitting behind my
PC, so I cannot finish the simulation in one night. Do you have a
solution for this ?

With kind regards,

Maurice Jong.
