AW: Active Layer

Title: Nachricht
Dear Moritz,
this error occurs if you use  in a wall a very thin or a very thick layer.
Such configurations might cause problems with the transferfunctions.

If you have a very thin Layer like you have with: PVCBEL = 2 mm you should model this as an masless Layer.

A hint:
The position of the error in the *.inf gives you the wall whichs causes the error.
Then I normaly delete layer by layer to see which Layer causes the problem.

Betreff: Active Layer

Dear TRNSYS users,

please give me somebody a hint, what could be meant by: "UNABLE TO FIND A ROOT AFTER INDICATION THAT A ROOT EXISTED". That is an error message generated by PREBID during the transfer function coefficients calculation, because of my active layer. I believe I designed it properly (cold ceiling modules), but after quite a while, I still cannot find the problem:

WALL KMODUL2
 LAYERS   = ALUMINIUM KLAYER ALUMINIUM LDECKE BET150 STWOLL012 ESTRICH45 PVCBEL
 THICKNESS= 0.036     0      0.005     0      0.15   0.05      0.045     0.002
 ABS-FRONT= 0.6   : ABS-BACK= 0.6
 HFRONT   = 11 : HBACK= 11

whereas
LAYER KLAYER
 PSPACING=   0.12 : PDIAMETER=   0.01 : PWALLTHICKNESS=  0.001 : PCONDUCTIVITY= 1382.4 : CPFLUID= 4.18
and
LAYER LDECKE
 RESISTANCE=     1.25

I also tried different time bases. And another short question: How is it defined, that the modules hang below the ceiling and do not lay on the floor or are even vertical boundaries?
Thank you very much!
Moritz
