Re: Greenhouse modeling

Dave,

A TRNSYS user posted some emails to the list a while ago about greenhouses. She was writing her own Type, I think. You can find her emails on the mailing list archive: look for "Ruut Brandsma" (R.Brandsma@ecofys.nl).
Otherwise, such a case would be a good test for the window model in Type 56...

Dear TRNSYS users,
We have been asked to work on a TRNSYS model for a stand alone green house. There are a number of configurations possible but the critical aspects are that the greenhouse material might be glass, polycarbonate, or plastic film stretched over a metal frame. The materials could be in either single or double wall configurations. Sunlight will certainly be passing through the greenhouse. Has anyone done such modeling? If models do not exist, is there any relevant research on annual solar gains in greenhouses? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
David
