Re: window with on glazing?



Dear Mohammed,

I’m using Prebid 3.1, and I do not know how can I add a window with
no glazings on an external wall. I am Studying a poultry house in
which windows do not have glazings.
TRNSYS 15 window library includes an "open window" (Window ID 10001 in the German library). You should be able to use it with Prebid 3.1 too. I attached the section of the library that you should add to your w4-lib.dat file (please make a backup copy and refer to your manual before doing this!).

The window ID 10001 in TRNSYS 15 German library has a transmittance of 1, so Type 56 will calculate the radiation transmitted through the window accurately. You will still have to take into account the infiltration through that window. You can calculate it outside Type 56 and use a special infiltration type, for example. If you use TRNFLOW (with TRNSYS 15), you can define the window in TRNFLOW and get an accurate calculation of the natural ventilation as well.
