Dear Gassem,
Yes, theoretically you can connect TRNSYS to those programs,
although not in exactly the same way that TRNSYS is connected to EES.
Because the Solar Lab has access to both the source code for EES and the
source code for TRNSYS, they were able to write a two sided connection
between the two programs. TRSNSYS passes data to EES and EES knows what
to do with it. The same would be true of FEHT since again it is written
by the SEL. However, in most cases, one does not have access to the
source code of the second (non TRNSYS) program. There is a TRNSYS utility
subroutine called "callprogram" There is a TRNSYS Type (66)
which shows an application of using the callprogram routine to launch and
command another application. In order to develop a link with the programs
that you list below, you would have to create a new TRNSYS Type, written
in Fortran, which duplicates the function of Type66, modified as
appropriate for your second program.
Kind regards,
David

Peace upon you
Is it possible to couple TRNSYS with any of the
following Windows-based programs, the Interactive Thermodynamics (IT - V
2.0 developed by Intelllipro, Inc.), the Interactive Heat Transfer (IHT -
V 2.0 developed by Intellipro, Inc. and John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
2002) or the Finite Element Heat Transfer (FEHT developed by S.A. Klien,
W.A. Beckman, G.E. Meyers, from the "F-Chart Software") in the
same way as the Engineering Equation Solver (EES developed by
"F-Chart Software") coupled as shown in Example (EX4) of
TRNSYS 15 documentation.
I'm using (TRNSYS 15 - IISiBat 3) as
simulation platform.
If the answer is YES, the next question will be How? Please
give some examples as possible?
Kind regards
G. Azzain
