Dear Howard
First of all, there are "heating control" and "cooling control" inputs for
the component, does it mean that the heat pump can only operate in either
mode, but not simultaneously supplying chilled water and hot water?
If so, is there is any component which can support simultaneous heating
and cooling?
Type668 is intended to model a heat pump that operates in either heating or
cooling mode. Apart from the fact that one fluid stream is heated while the
other is cooled, the component is not intended to model a heat pump that
can heat and cool simultaneously. To model such a system, I would suggest
that you add two such heat pumps in either series or parallel and control
them appropriately to obtain whatever effect you want on the fluid streams.
Secondly, what are the "source" and "load" in the parameters page exactly
mean? I find that during "cooling" mode, the chilled water should be
the "load", but while "heating" mode. the chilled water should be the
"source". Is it a bit contradicting?
In heating mode, the "load" fluid refers to the stream that is being
heated. In cooling mode, the "load" stream is the one that is being cooled.
Kind regards,
David
