RE: detailed flat plate collector model

Christophe,

The "CodePro" software allows you to design a solar collector and to compute
some efficiency parameters.
You can define various test conditions and compute the performance of the
solar collector that you designed.
CodePro can be downloaded from the SEL website:
http://sel.me.wisc.edu/Setup_CoDePro.EXE

The standard TRNSYS TYPE 73 (theoretical flat-plate collector) takes the
losses you mention into account, but it requires you to input some global
parameters that you have to compute beforehand (e.g. bottom and edge losses
coefficient). Detailed losses are not part of the output list of TYPE 73 but
you could easily add them if you have a compiler.

Subject: detailed flat plate collector model

Dear trnsys users,

I'm looking for a detailed flat plate collector model. The aim is to obtain,
as OUTPUT, the different collector losses :

- backside heat losses (conduction through insulating material) ;
- topside convection heat losses ;
- topside radiation heat losses ;
- optical reflexion from the cover to the surrounding.

If somebody knows such a model, I'm very interrested to get the detailed
description (mathematical description, inputs, parameters, outputs,...) and
the source code perhaps.

Thanks for your help,
Christophe.
