Re: Simple building with radiator heating

Dear Ulrika,

perhaps the publication in the annex is of some interest for you.

The measured data have been taken at a supplier station of a
real existing house in Berlin.

The given formulas, I could imagine, are very simply to code for
an own TRNSYS-Subroutine-Type with some further coding.

Our heat transfer model for the radiators corresponded very well
with the measured data.

Kind regards

Subject: Simple building with radiator heating

Dear TRNSYS users;
I’m trying to model a small distrikt heating network, where the houses heating and DHW load are met by a hot water distribution net. To model the houses, I have used Type 12a, The equation used for heat transfer to the room (Qtrans=e*Cmin*(Tin-Troom) does not correspond well with the heat transfer rate for radiators. Does anybody know of a better house model (or combination of components) to use in this case?

I’m fairly new to TRNSYS, so I don’t know how difficult it might be to alter a model (for example Type 12) in order to get a more accurate expression for the heat transfer rate. Maybe that could be another way to achieve what I’m trying for?

I’m most grateful for any advise in this matter…

Kind regards,

Jong,
the Error range check occurs usually if you have unfortunatly a bad component order.
That means, it is not direct caused by the component you useed. Instead it is the range of the components.
For example: An Output type in the component order should be listed at the end of the list. This is, because there is no other unit which requires a result of the Output type. So they can go last!
Equation Modes are better at the beginning of the list, but keep them in the right order. Do not let TRNSYS calculate with a variable that you do not provieded before. This will slow down the speed or occur the range check error.
You find the order of components on the global infos.

Henrik
