Taking snow into account in a building simulation

Dear TRNSYS users,
We would like to run a building simulation where the snow layer on the 
building roof is taken into account. We are looking for references on 
the subject and also for tips and tricks to simulate that effect in 
TRNSYS (i.e. with Type56). Any advice or information would be greatly 
appreciated.
