Miscellaneous Lab Information
- Normally we have SEL seminars on Tuesdays at 3:30 PM during the Fall and Spring semesters. A schedule of seminars will be provided to you at the beginning of the semester.
- Ask the person next to you for the location of the key to the inner computer lab. You may need it as the outer key does not work on the inner door.
- Occasionally, we have LAB CLEANS. Everyone pitches in to clean the stuff that the janitors do not clean (which is basically everything but the floors). Don't skip a lab clean or your life will be especially difficult after that.
- Use only the TRNSYS manuals that say LAB COPY in big letters on the front. This is so we don't trash the good ones we intend to sell. If there is a consistent shortage of lab copies, alert the TRNSYS engineer and more will be provided.
- Don't steal the chair of someone when they step away. This has been known to cause great controversy.
- For easy questions, ask the person next to you. If he/she doesn't know, ask the staff engineer/TRNSYS coordinator. The TRNSYS engineer will either answer it or point you to the proper manual (yes, read the manual). For difficult questions, ask a professor. For impossible questions, ask Shirley. For anything else, ask Roy, the night janitor.
