At the Kyoto Agreement, the United States agreed to reduce its CO2 output by 7% below its 1990 output level in the years of 2008-2012. Right now, we are still 18% above the target value.
Here at the Solar Energy Lab, a study was conducted that focused on analyzing the extent to which solar thermal energy systems can be used for residential and commercial water and space heating purposes in order to help reduce the United States’ future CO2 emissions.
